Charity Donations

The St Neots Windows JW Community Fund

Starting in September 2023 we will donate £10.00 for every supply and install contract for windows, doors, roofline and conservatories  to charity. This year our chosen charity is The Arthur Rank Hospice.

John Woods, the founder of St Neots Windows launches his fundraising campaign with the support of his new partners, Michael Gulliver and Ruth and Paul Sadler.

John started St Neots Windows 26 years ago and the business is based in Little End Road, Eaton Socon. He trained as a carpenter when he left school and gained 14 years of experience with his father as a window fabricator and installer before beginning the business in a small industrial unit with one team of installers. It has now grown to become one of the area’s most well-known family firms.

In 2021 John was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease and has been fundraising ever since and he has helped raise almost £30,000 for charities so far. His friend Adrian Smith organised a charity walk around Grafham Water that raised £6,500 as well as a band night that collected £2,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).

John formed a close friendship with Lee Taylor, who was also living with the disease, and together they hosted a charity ball at The Priory Centre, St Neots. Sadly Lee passed away just days after presenting cheques for the £20,800 raised at the ball. The monies raised from the night were shared equally between The Motor Neurone Disease Association and The Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.

Fundraising is close to John’s heart, as is the memory of his friend Lee and the successful run of fundraising is only set to continue with this new campaign offer now available with St Neots Windows.

The Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports people across Cambridgeshire living with life-limiting illnesses or in need of end-of-life care. Their Cambridge hospice also hosts the Addenbrooke’s Hospital MND Clinic, which John and Lee both benefitted from immensely. It also runs a Living Well Service which helps people live as independently as possible if they have a life-limiting illness.

The MND Association exists to support people facing that unimaginable diagnosis of motor neurone disease (MND), as well as their loved ones and their carers. Founded in 1979 by volunteers, our tenacious community has grown considerably, all sharing the same vision – a world free from MND. The MND Association focuses on funding research, improving access to care and campaigning for people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. People with MND, their families and carers are at the heart of everything we do.
